Meet the Farm!

Know your farmers, know your food

Local Farmers, Good Food

We’re a small family farm based in Malakwa BC, rooted in a commitment to growing healthy food and working in balance with the land. For the past five years, we’ve been building our farm with a focus on sustainability, soil health and long-term resilience.

We moved to our farm in 2021 and have been slowly working on restoring the pasture, improving the berry fields, creating aquatic habitats and fixing up infrastructure.

Where we started

Our backgrounds shape everything we do. Caleb comes from forestry, with a strong foundation in land stewardship, while I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with experience in fisheries and invasive species management. I moved into communications and web design, and now have over a decade of working with environmental and conservation groups under my belt.

After years working in environmental fields, we made the shift to put that knowledge into practice on our own land. Growing food for our community that is clean, healthy and free from unnecessary chemicals.

A busy little farm!

Our farm is also our home, where we’re raising our three-year-old alongside a crew of five dogs and a mix of farm animals. We raise chickens, turkeys, horses, and pigs, with plans to add sheep in the near future. Each part of the farm plays a role in creating a balanced, regenerative system, where animals, soil and crops all work together.

2026 marks our first year of vegetable production, and we are jumping right in! There is a lot of learning to do still, but we are loving the challenge.

We also grow unique and nutrient-dense crops like aronia berries and haskaps. Aronia berries, sometimes called chokeberries, are small, dark berries known for their high antioxidant content and bold, tart flavour (great for juices, jams, and preserving). Haskaps, also known as honeyberries, are an early-season fruit with a sweet-tangy taste, often compared to a mix of blueberry and raspberry.

Know your farmer, know your food

Everything we do is guided by a simple goal: to produce high-quality, nourishing food using practices that support the health of the land and our community.

As a mom cooking for my family, this matters deeply to me. I want to know exactly how our food is grown and what goes into it. We believe in transparency, sustainability and food you can feel good about eating.

We’re grateful to our community for supporting us and being part of this journey!
